Our trip was an adventure at times :-) We get to San Antonio airport to find out that the plane that was coming from Dallas was not coming in til ???? So they switched us to another plane. We get to Dallas just in time to go to the bathroom and get on the next plane. What a neat flight it was as we flew low enough most of the time to see the ground. It was neat to see the different states and terrain of them.
Arrived in Seattle only to find out our luggage did not make the flight we did even though they had plenty of time to get it to the plane as we leave over an hour after the orginal time. Thank goodness we flew in early and no panic that we had no luggage. We hopped on the shuttle service I had booked for our hotel. We stayed at a Spring Hill Suite in Seattle and it was nice. Our luggage arrived around 9:30 that night ....phew :-)
We got up Thurs and headed out to check out the sights of Seattle. First stop was the Underground Tour. While it was interesting I am not sure it was worth the money. Had a good tour guide though for it. We then proceeded to the Smith Tour. What a view from the top!!! After a walk through Pikes Place Market we headed towards our hotel stopping for a yummy deli sandwich and some ice cream. Just as we got to the hotel our friends Karen and Bill arrived :-) Perfect timing! We all went to dinner that night.
Scary but interesting experience: As we walked out the hotel door to go to dinner I was telling Karen that we had heard so many sirens since we had gotten in to Seattle. We spotted a police car to the right of us with its lights on. Then all of a sudden Joe noticed that cops were looking in the windows across the street at Subway...Starbucks and the gym. ACK they had big guns too! So we hide sorta behind the building so we were safe but also we could be nosey LOL We later found out that a young kid (not sure how young) had a bb gun and someone called the cops.
We were on the cruise ship by 11:30 ish on Friday and off we went to the buffet so we could start eating. OINK!!!
We enjoyed Juneau. We shopped some in the AM when we got off then took a city tour. Stopped at Mendinhall Galcier where were a few bears! COOL!!!!
It rained all day while we were in Juneau
In Skagway we rented a car. What a fun little town that was! We rented a car there and took about a 4 hour drive. We saw a ton of water falls, lakes, trees turning beautiful colors and eagles!!!!
The glacier area we went in to was beautiful! We had hoped to see whales and such but we only saw talls and water they were shooting out. Close so I was still happy. And I was SUPER excited when we saw the bears!
In Prince Rupert I took Joe on a hike to try to find the totem pole park thinking it would be full of them. LOL It was raining there and while we really enjoyed our walk we sure would of enjoyed sun for it. We finally found our way to the park only to find 3 totem poles. If I would of known that we could of just stayed downtown. Anyway we did enjoy the walk although I am sure Joe will whine about it :-) We only stayed off the boat for a tad bit over an hour due to the heavier rain.
We met quite a few nice people on board. I think that is the most we have ever talked to people when we have cruised. Two couples from Montana (hm think that is right too tired tonight to be for sure LOL). We sat with them each night at the shows. We really enjoyed their company.
Our dinner mates were really nice. Karen and Bill only came the first night :-( But Chip and Vicki were there every night but one. Nice company :-)
Our time in Seattle with our friends was wonderful!!! They showed us some awesume sites!!!!!!!!! Nice memories we will have.
OK here is the link to pictures...hope it worked!!!!!!!!!!!!
