Off we go

And off we go on Carnival Ecstacy! We will head to Galveston in a few hours. Meeting my ex step mom for dinner then tomorrow AM after Michele and girls get to the hotel we will head to the port. Woo hooo!

Nice but busy

We had a nice but busy weekend.
Friday we went to dinner with Brice, then to a ballgame up at the city park, and on the way home saw a fight in the park. Brice ended up calling the police as it looked like it was getting out of control. There were probably 30 teenagers involved. Boy the cops sure got there quick.

Saturday we went to Highlands TX to race. Nice track! Joe took a 4th in the feature and was pleased. We HATE that long drive!

Sunday we got up and went for a Harley ride. We rode to Port O Conner. It was so nice. We ate some fried shrimp at this place on the water and watched all the boaters. Some fishermen were cleaning their fish so we watched them for a bit. One guy had a shark! They threw the fish leftovers in the water to the porpoises so we were able to be real close when they came up. :-)

Yesterday Joe thought he had to work but once he got there his boss said she meant to tell him he was off. So he came home and we worked in the house. Sheet rocking is not that fun LOL

I ran a few errands today and started packing FINALLY. I cannot wait to leave on Friday!

Thursday

Woo hoo only 4 more work days for Joe and then we can go cruising! I think we shall stay there forever :-) Wouldn't that be nice to have some cook, clean, worry about entertainment, etc for you :-)

The dentist fixed my crown. Just threw some new cement on it and off I went. Hopefully it stays on and I have no other problems.

Found a few things at the outlet mall :-)

Joe and I started to put up the little white picket fence up that Brice's neighbors gave us. Definitely seen better days but will do for now. And Little Buddy will be so happy when we can finally just put him out back and he can run run run.

Tuesday

Yawn, I am headed out the door shortly. I have a dental appt later as I have a crown that decided it wanted out of my mouth. UGH! I am going to stop at the outlet mall though before hand. Wish my luck on finding some good deals!

Thanks for all the birthday and anniversary wishes. We had a nice weekend even though Joe was disappointed as rain canceled his racing on Saturday night.

Yuck ...sanding

I have been outside all morning sanding a door. I think I have it done enough where I can paint now but decided to come inside and cool off. Now that I have I do not want to go back out LOL
Joe is still outside working on his race car. He had a bit to do since he wrecked last weekend. He is off to Edna again tomorrow night to race as long as it is not raining.

Christina just found out her birth sister and birth mom will be in Texas next weekend. I guess she is going to go try to see them. We were invited too but I have not heard the details yet. Doubt we can go though as Joe races up by Houston :-(

No big plans for Joe's birthday/our anniversary :-( Probably just grab a nice dinner somewhere.

Birds

We sure are getting quite a few birds now. I think I might have to get some more bird feeders :-) We have only seen 1 hummingbird though :-( Maybe in time.......

We were outside all day today. We are beat. Tomorrow we have to return something to Lowe's then more work outside. Joe "might" start putting in the poles for the fence someone gave us. We shall see though as he also needs to get his race car all back together since they race again on Saturday night.

LOL Brice was tickled when we got the current points for racing. He is in 10th place and Joseph is in 7th. Not sure how that happened as Brice definitely is much slower then Joseph but we are happy for him. He may not win but he has fun. (they both do)

I meant to order a cake for Joseph for Saturday night.....darn. Oh well....maybe next year. Poor guy

Neighbor

My neighbor lady is stressing me out. Every time I go out it seems she is out and sitting in her chair just glaring over here. And when we have company over she hurries out there. Today she called the Chief of Police (Chris) to make ANOTHER complaint on Brice for honking his horn. Hm not sure how it could of been Brice when he had been out of town since early this AM and did not get back til dinner time. I do not even know if he was back in town when the Chief called him.
She is stressing me out! I cannot wait to go out of town in a few weeks to just get away from it for a few days.

Wednesday

Morning
Just got home from doing 2 loads of wash :-)

Now I am waiting to get a confirmation of the excursion I just made for Snorkeling and seeing Stingrays in Cayman Island. http://www.captainmarvins.com/halfexcursion.html 4 of the 5 of us have snorkeled before, I am the only one who has not and a bit worried but sure going to try. We will also shop a bit that day.
We have to book our other excursion when we get on the ship since they changed our ports.
Just found the mardi gra beads we need for the cruise. Just one string but it will work. We are going to meet some people that are on our roll call at Cruise Critic that I have been chatting with. They all seem like real nice people. One couple has a penthouse suite on the cruise. WOW! I would love to see that! I could probably cruise 9 times atleast for the price of that cabin.

We sure are getting a lot of birds now around the house. I guess cuz we put up a few bird feeders. We have a lot of cardinals. Brice and I saw a hummingbird the other night while we were watching Joe use the tractor.

The people who we bought the house from came by last night. For some reason she had gotten a package here. She was telling me the old lady across the street is always causing trouble. There use to be a couple across the road who both worked for the prison here. Well I guess she decided they were dealing drugs out of the house. Spread it all over town I guess. Sad she has to do that.

Joe is done with work after today for the week. He is still working in delivery. Sounds like there is ALOT of work to do when he works delivery. I think he will be happy to get to his regular job and hope that they do not float him to delivery very often.

Guess I best go see what I can come up with for dinner tonight. Last night I told Joe and Brice I was NOT cooking so they need to come up with something. :-) Brice got pizza for us. So my turn again tonight.

Write up..

Here is what Monty wrote about Joe from Saturday night:

Joseph Snow was the featured driver, who had his car on display in the general admission section prior to the races. Joseph signed pictures, and met a lot of fans. As he went to the track for his heat race, he gave those same fans something to remember, as he was collected in a turn 3 incident placing him on his side. The crew rolled him back over, the car was checked out, he was back underway.

I am waiting for Joe to come back home. He went over to one of Brice's neighbors house to get some white picket fence they were getting rid of. A little paint and I think it will work great for us :-)

I have some Baked Ziti warming in the oven. :-)

Joe is taking a lasagna to work tomorrow. I guess last week the woman brought a meal so Joe thought he could this week since he knew I had it in the freezer. I have some salad and garlic bread to send too. Nice wife I am :-)

Trees and dirt

Trimming trees and spreading dirt were on the agenda today. Joe still has about 1 and 1/2 dump truck loads to get done but I made them stop so we can go eat dinner for Mother's Day.

Racing

Joe was feature driver last night at Edna :-)

Well.............Joe gave me a scare last night. He was racing hard with the guy he normally does when all of a sudden Andrew spun and Joe I guess had no place to go. He thought someone was above him so he did not want to go high, there was a big tire the other way and he knew that hurt, or he could try to spin and try to avoid. Just did not happen that way this time. He ended up on his side after slamming into Andrew. ACK! Two other cars decided to join in the fun too. I of course got freaked out and turned my back as I did not want to see if it was bad LOL He climbed out as soon as he knew it was safe as he smelled gas. They rolled his car back on 4 wheels and he started it right up and off he went to come in second in his heat LOL
Poor Andrew his car was a bit torn up but during the break between races Joe and several others helped him get the car fixed. Joe's car has a few dents and such but nothing major that we know it. Then in the feature he was charging hard and all of a sudden he broke. He said something about a bolt stripping. He did not crash and came in safe and sound :-)

Not sure what fun things we will do around the house today. Only supposed to be around 92 today LOL woo hoo cold front

Mother's Day

Off to Edna to race

Cars are all loaded and trucks hooked up (well ours is). We are off to Edna in a few hours so the guys can race. Phew going to be a hot one! Atleast normally there is a breeze....I know there is one here in Cuero today so we can hope in Edna there is. Joe is featured driver tonight so he will be at the front gate with his car, handing out pictures and such. I got some candy to give out too. I think Joe is in 6th place over all in the club so far. He has so much fun!

Joe has been working on a few things around here. He got 4 loads of dirt delivered yesterday. My gosh that is a lot of dirt. Luckily Brice knows a guy who is letting them borrow his little tractor tomorrow to spread it around. We are going to try to level out the yard some. We planted 4 rose bushes. Yesterday found a pretty white one at Sams. Hopefully they do good. I still need to put some mulch around them. Some day we will get to work inside the house. I doubt we will be in the house til the end of the year. Good thing is it is cheaper to a/c the RV :-) Nice plus :-)

Little old lady across the street is still giving me the creeps watching every move I make. Makes me nervous!

Joe (and Brice) finally put up our holder so we can hang the new bird feeders. LOL Took both of them to get it in the ground.

Wednesday

Man I am so lazy today. I was to get up and go to the laundry mat but it is just not happening today. I do not have a whole bunch to do so it can wait another day. Maybe tomorrow :-)

Booked our plane tickets for August when we are going to St Louis for a family reunion. I was hoping the price would go down more but they have been stuck for awhile now so just went ahead and bought them. Cousin Tammy in FL got hers too. It should be fun to see everyone! Tammy, Kelli and I are thinking maybe Friday we will head down to the arch area in the AM :-) Also Laura and I are hoping to take the kids to the zoo on Sunday AM before she heads back home. We have 3 whole days in St. Louis (s0 does Tammy). Hopefully the weather is not too hot nor rainy.

Our cruise is getting closer. The people who have been posting on Cruisecritic.com have decided that I need to make some plans for us all to meet on the ship. Yuck.....but anyway I guess we are going to meet the first full day around noon. Then we will go watch the Hairy Chest contest as a few of the guys who are posting are thinking about participating. Need to find some marti gra beads now as that is how we are going to recognize each other. We are all waiting to see if we can book our excursions now or have to wait til we get on the ship. What a madhouse that will be! We know for sure in Montego Bay we definitely want to book an excursion ...when Joe and I were there a few years ago the port kinda gave me the creeps and I know some ppl who had a few issues when they went downtown a lone. So we will be sure to book something with Carnival. Cayman Island we should be fine doing something on our own. Anyway we are hoping in Montego Bay to go bobsledding and also go to Dunns River Falls. We shall see. I so need to get clothes organized or I might have to go naked LOL (not)

Off to Walmart I go. We need some chlorine for the hot tub as we finally set it up yesterday on the side porch. We will eventually move it to the back when we have a deck or something back there.

According to the Carnival website our cruise is NOW 7 DAYS! Woo hoo! New ports are Cayman Island and Montego Bay. We are so excited. Now to figure out what to do in port.

Joe is off tomorrow...shock! I guess the lady who is orientating him (another name for it but I forgot) has to be off so Joe is off. So looks like we will be busy around here. Hm wonder what we shall see...LOL got a long list of things that could be done :-)

Happy 2nd Birthday Deacon!

Can you believe Deacon is 2?! Seems like just yesterday Uncle Joe and I were up in Lees Summit waiting for him to come. :-) I just paid the bills. Fun fun! Have to go over to Victoria later today when Joe gets off work. He has to take Little Buddy (the dog) to get a booster for his rabies or something. I will drop him off at Joe's work when he gets off. Think I will run to the grocery store while I am over there. I just do not care at all for the HEB we have here in Cuero. Nice to have though when you just need to run in for a thing or two.

Sunny and HOT here today supposedly. I think the cooler days are gone til later this year.

I need to work on my packing list for our cruise. It will be here before we know it. Just wish it was going to still be the 5 day or change to a 7 day due to the flu. Our friends here in Cuero who are going this coming weekend got their changed to a 7 day and now go to Grand Cayman instead of Cozumel and Progresso. All I really care about though is getting away!!! :-)

Sunday...wow

Wow it is Sunday already.....wish we had a few more days of Joe being off work. The weekends go by so fast lately. I am glad the week is over with though as it has been a long one with the neighbor lady being the way she is. Luckily she has not come over and yelled at me any more. But we have heard he go to the neighbors and talk about us. Wonder what is up with her?

Joe (and I sorta) have been working on the new sewer pipes, water pipes in he yard and he also put a few sprinklers in the ground out front. Brice helped Joe yesterday covered the mess back up once the pipes were in the ground. LOL they were funny the other day using the trencher as it was muddy still and the trencher was just difficult to pull through. It took 2 of them at times to just get it through. They did a trench along the property on 2 sides to see if it would help when (if) we get major rain again.

We went to the races last night. The guys did not race though. It was nice to just sit there and watch and not have to worry about them being out there.

Today we are off to see a movie. I am so glad Joe is taking a day off of working. We do have to take a big ole truck bed load of trash to the dumpster tonight though as I have been working on ripping the floor up in the kitchen and laundry area. Woo hoo got it all done :-) Joe said my next project can be to take the lower kitchen cabinets out. Hm going to have to see how they are in there and see how easy it would be to do alone.
Anyway we are off to see "Fighter". I think it starts at 2:30 so I think we plan to go get something to eat first.

Brice is getting a new puppy today I think. We may take a ride with him to get her. He was supposed to leave town tomorrow and we were going to babysit the puppy which I was not thrilled one bit about since it was not going to be potty trained but I guess their out of town work has been postponed til June now. :-) So hopefully by the time that comes around the dog will be potty trained.

OH I saw Christina this week. She is doing fine.
