Trip in review :-)
Woo hoo Joe got my pictures on the computer :-) So now I can share our trip :-)
We so love our weather here in Texas but we were excited to start seeing snow on our way to Topeka. As we went further the weather got worse. ACK! About an hour outside of Topeka we heard on the radio that the freezing rain would be hitting Topeka in an hour. Phew we thought we would make it in time. 5 mins later Joe said "LOOK at the windshield" LOL ICE was forming. (you can see it on the left side of the windshield in the picture) Luckily it never got too bad. Til....................
LOL We got to Rosie's road. ACK! This was going to be fun getting the rv in the driveway. We normally can get in better to places if Joe directs me while I am in the drivers seat as I tend to try to socialize, wave, etc if I am the director LOL I had a few issues but ended up getting it in without wiping Rosie's neighbors fence, house, etc out :-)
Joe and I went to KC the day after we go to Kansas. We had some friends racing in Kemper Arena. BURR that place was COLD! I am so glad Joe did not bring his car. We did have a good time though.
Up early and on the road to Laura's house we were on Saturday. We opened our gifts :-) We all got some great gifts! Thanks Laura and family!!! Dad and Pam joined us later on for some nice family time. Later on the older kids went to their dad's house and the rest of us went out for mexican food before we headed back to Topeka.
The rest of our visit was spent off and on with several of Joe's family members. We spent a few hours at Matt's house as he and his family now live in Topeka (so nice to be able to spend more time with him) He has 2 grandson's now.
Sunday brought the nasty stomach virus to me :-( Christina supposedly got a tad bit of it but luckily Joe never did suffer from it.
Luckily I had prepared for Sunday's meal in advance.....supposedly my lasagana and Baked Ziti was VERY good, too bad I did not get to taste it. Joe's mom and step dad came over to eat too that night :-)
Christmas AM was spent with Rosie's family. Haydin sure liked toys better then clothes LOL
Joe and I also took a drive around Lake Shawnee while we were there. Burr you can tell how cold it is as most of the lake was frozen. Check out all the geese!!!!!!!
Home we went (to WARM weather LOL)and I have already posted that story about the RV breaking down LOL
No good news on it being fixed yet. Joe had some stern words with them this AM when they informed us they DID NOT work on rv issues like we have. UM WRONG answer! We called once before it was ever taken there and also our warranty company did it. The man later called Joe back and said they were working on resolving the issue. Hopefully tomorrow will bring better news :-)

Pictures at Laura's
While I cannot get my pictures loaded yet my sister sent me a few she took :-)
I think spending the day at Laura's was one of my favorite things about our trip to KS/Mo. Too bad Alien Child did not go with us. Maybe next time she won't be an alien and can go too :-)

Irked and to the movies
I am irked! I cannot get my pictures I took in KS/MO to upload to my computer. I have not idea what is wrong :-( I need to see if I can figure out another way so I can share with you :-)
Joe and I went to see "Marly and Me" today. I just thought it looked like a cute movie and did not even look to see what all it was about. Be sure if you go to bring a box of kleenex as it was SAD at the end. I kept closing my eyes and plugging my ears so I would not cry harder then I was LOL Joe said the lady behind us was rather loud with her crying. It was a good movie though :-)
Joe out working on his race car a bit this evening. Our friend Brice also brought his in to Floresville tonight. He will be here a lot working on it the next few weeks :-)
Chilly here today. We even had a tad bit of rain early this AM. Joe and I were shocked to hear thunder!

Poor rv
Our poor RV...first it had such issues with the cold weather in Kansas and now on the way home yesterday it decided to have other issues. We are not totally sure what it is but think a control panel went out. We had to have it towed up in Waco. Thank goodness we have Good Sams emergency road side. Joe will call the people on Monday to see what they can do. We "think" it will be covered by warranty! Woo hoo! I told Joe maybe we best not take an RV to Kansas as Christmas time again as this is the second time it has happened LOL
I am trying to make Joe a black berry pie. I sure hope it turns out. Our friend Katrina in Washington had made one when we were there and Joe has craved it every since. Of course Katrina is at Disneyland right now so I cannot get her recipe. We shall see. I made an apple pie one for me as I am not in to black berries all that much.
Joe is happy to be back home. He has been out in the back garage for a bit this afternoon working on his dwarf car. Our friend Brice is getting ready to bring his here so Joe wanted to get as much as he could done on his now. They (3 of the guys) are all changing engines around. Crazy men!
I am off to try to figure out why I cannot upload our pictures from Kansas on my computer so I can share. Hope everyone is staying warm!

BURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
OK so we now remember WHY we do not care for Kansas winters LOL It is COLD here. Our poor RV has had frozen pipes so we cannot even use the shower and such out there. Joe has put some insulation and such around the pipes. It is just too darn cold here!
We have seen most of Joe's family that lives here in Topeka. It has been nice to see everyone.
We had a GREAT time at Laura's house with her family and Dad & Pam. I will share pictures when I get home.
Hope everyone has a great Christmas! We will be headed home on Friday!

The RV is just about all loaded so we can head north tomorrow when Joe wakes. He normally gets up around 1 so......we are hoping to avoid the real nasty traffic in Austin.
Latest I heard from Christina is she has changed her mind and is going to go with us. We shalll see if she is here on time. I told her we are NOT waiting for her. She is on her own time schedule and thinks people need to go with that schedule. Sigh............
I am sure she will be happy to hang out with her cousins :-)
Looks like KS/Mo got even more snow today. I think the roads should be ok for us. I did see in Topeka on Thurs there might be freezing drizzle but I think we should be ok....and atleast we are going to be getting there in the day light hours.
I will try to post again in the AM while Joe sleeps. Til then.......

All done and BURR
Burr the cold front hit this AM. It is not too too bad out there. Definitely warmer then our family in KS/Mo! Laura emailed it was 4* at her house this AM. BURR! (crazy we are to leave our warm TX to go to KS/MO LOL)
I sent my one box that I needed to send today. It was a small box but sure was pricey. So glad I only had 1 to send this year. The rest we will deliver ourselves :-)
Also finished up my Christmas shopping. Things are slim this year but it is the thought that counts, right?
Today I am concentrating on getting the things in a pile to take out to the RV. Not much but clothes to take out there this trip :-) Will throw some water in the fridge and maybe a few snacks. I am also taking a lasagna. We will have it Sunday night at Rosie's along with Baked Ziti, salad and garlic bread. YUM!
Joe snoozing away. He has worked the last 2 nights and has 2 more to go as long as the patient count in the NICU stays high like it has been.
When we get back and after the new year starts he is going to try to work a day at a Home Health agency here in Floresville. We shall see how he likes it. Hours won't be long and sounds pretty easy. And I could probably ride with him on days he only has a patient or two :-)

Weather
It went from 85 (or around there) to rain, sleet and snow flurries in the San Antonio area. CRAZY! I do not think snow flurries got this far south but I heard there was some in downtown San Antonio. Crazy!!!!! The next 2 nights supposed to get pretty darn chilly but the temps during the day are not to be too too cold.
Joe busy at work again last night. He had 4 babies! He definitely is crashed this AM. He is off the next 2 nights then works 4 in a row as long as they have patients. Then off we go to see some of our family. (I am no where ready to leave next week...need to get working on that)
I think later on we are going to go to Cuero. It is a little ole town about an hour away. One of the guys who Joe races with lives there and Joe wants to see what he has done to his race car as he has been busy working on it. He is the one who wrecked at The Grand real bad. Tomorrow I have errands that I am going to drag Joe with me to do. LOL

Friday already?
It is Friday already?? Where did this week go?
Let's see.....
Joe has gone to the DR two times this week. Yesterday he saw his primary care. He had seen this guy a year or so ago (well for a few years) but then the DR went to Iraq. Right after Joe's heart attack we heard he was back so I sent him an email to see if Joe could be his patient again. Woo hoo it worked! He is only taking on a few patients and luckily Joe's dear darling wife got Joe in as one. (such a good wife I am LOL) Anyway got some good news from him, Joe's HDL has jumped to 37! The Dr said we will have a party if we can get it to 40 LOL He adjusted some meds and sent Joe packing. It is so nice to know though that he knows Joe's case and Joe did real well when he was taking care of him. Now lets hope the guy sticks around for some time.
Joe is getting his ECO done right now. I am not sure when we will hear anything on it. I guess if all is ok we won't but then again who knows. LOL
Christina went to the dentist yesterday. UGH we had to schedule an appt to get her wisdom teeth out. Does anyone want to come take care of her while she recoops? I am NOT looking forward to that at all. Atleast we have til Feb. :-)
YUCK I go to the dentist on Monday. I tried to cancel it since I just love the dentist so much but Joe and one of the dentists asst would not let me. Sigh........
Did a bit of holiday cooking the last day or so. Two batches of fudge and two batches of this peppermint stuff I make every year. Joe will take most of it to work with him and Christina will take the rest. She was so happy to see I had the stuff on the counter. She would eat the whole two pans of fudge if I let her. OINK!
COLD today :-( Thank goodness we do not have the cold weather for very long here. I just do not care for it one bit.
OH I am almost done with my Christmas shopping. Ba humbug I just am not in to it this year so not doing a good job at all shopping. Maybe next year will be better ??????
Hope everyone is well
