Picturing sharing day .......

Today must be my day to get pictures of relatives. Jessica sent me a new picture of Matthew. Smiley boy he is today :-)

Our great niece Taylor has been growing her hair for like forever...LOL Well for an almost 6 years old I am sure it feels like forever. She wanted to grow it long and donate it to Locks of Love

We saw our neighbor boy Edward is now home from the Army's Basic and AIT. He looks so handsome and grown up in his uniform. Hopefully he will come see us soon so we can find out what his future plans are.

Woo hoo been a good week for RN Joe to work. He is getting in 3 nights and a night of being on call. Thank goodness as we really needed him to work. Hopefully this is a good sign that things are picking up. The other night in ICU they only had 5 patients. They say normally in the summer things get like this but will pick back up in the next month or so. We shall see.

UPDATE: No working after all for Joe tonight :-(
So he went out back to work on ?????

Christina is home. Guess work is slow at the beginning of the week. She seems to like it though. We shall see.

Joe has the 3 race cars just about ready to take to Edna this weekend. Donnie is going to try to sell Josh's I guess. IF they do not crash them I think we are leaving them at Donnie's so we do not have to keep hauling them back and forth. Donnie lives like 25 mins or so from the race track :-) Hopefully this weekend of racing will be much better for the guys....LOL I know Joe sure hopes so too.

Nothing too exciting

Joe and I got up this AM and took a load of scrap metal to the salvage yard. Cool I had never seen them use their big ole machine. It has this HUGE magnet on it and just reached down to the trailer and picked up stuff. It picked up an engine like it was a feather.
We also had to go over to Donnie's to get Josh's race car. We are hauling it to the race track this weekend. I think Donnie is going to put a for sale sign on it as Josh just does not race anymore :-(

Nothing else really new here :-(

OH I snagged this from Renee's blog :-)

Busy weekend

Phew I am pooped and it is only Saturday. We have been busy. Yesterday we went over to Stockdale and helped Donnie pack up stuff and get it out of his rental house. He has to be out by the 1st.
Today Joe ran to the junkyard this AM then we meet The Kinser's to go to a fundraiser deal that Pat's company was sponsoring. The guys all bowled while Anna and I chatted and help with the score deals.

Later we went to Red Robyn where we all ate way too much. Oink!!

Not too sure what we are doing tomorrow but HOPEFULLY Joe will work tomorrow night and the next two nights after that. Keep your fingers and toes crossed.

I talked to my dad and Pam today. They seemed well and were headed out with friends tonight.

Looks like we ended up with less then 2 inches of rain from Dolly the other day. We could use more I am sure but definitely not severe weather that is for sure!

Christina seems to like her job. We shall see how long she stays there. Giving her some experience though :-)

Off I go to watch the rest of the NASCAR race on TV. Boo hiss though Kyle Busch is winning yet again....sigh

Panama

For those of you who have heard me talk of our Panama family here is recent pictures I got from Susy the other day. It was so nice to hear from her and see how the boys are growing.

We are just puttering around here today. Joe went out back to fix the jeep. It had a belt that kept making a horrible noise. Now he is cleaning up the garage it looks like. It sure needs it too! LOL Of course our whole house and yard could use a good cleaning.
I have been watching the tv and the updates on the hurricane. We were getting a few sprinkles a bit ago. Hopefully it will get heavier later on. Sure was a weird feeling one got when you stepped outside.

Sounds like Dolly just became a hurricane! I saw it is like 90% of rain tomorrow. Woo hoo!

Spent 1/2 the day at BAMC with Joe. He had that scope test down his throat. He did really good and is now sleeping off the meds :-) They did find a few polyps that they biopsied and we should know in a week or so what if anything they found. They are more then likely caused from meds he has been on over the years. He was so goofy when he came out today. I just kept laughing at him. Must be some good meds they gave him.

Nothing else happening at our house today. What about at everyone else's house?

Dolly

So what do you think about Dolly? Will we in the San Antonio area get rain from her? I think I heard early we could get 2-4 inches of rain.
Earlier they were saying busses are headed to San Antonio incase they are needed to go help. And I got an email a bit ago from a nursing agency that they are preparing and want RN's. Hm, we shall see.

Been a BORING day here for me. I just stayed home and did laundry. Fun fun! I did make a yummy dinner of chicken, veggies and had some twice baked potatoes in the freezer I got out too. Yummy! House still smells yummy from it.

We are off to BAMC tomorrow so Joe can have that scope test. LOL Such fun he will have. Lucky man!

I am on here tonight trying to update notes on our Alaska trip. I think we have like 44 days til we cruise :-) Sure wish I knew what exactly to pack. Sigh......

No luck at races

Well neither Joe nor Donnie had that good of luck in the end last night in Edna at the races.
Joe first went out and even though he came in second in his heat he had fuel pump issues. There was rtv in it. So he hurriedly cleaned it and was able to make it back out for the feature. Sighhhhhhhhhhh and that did not go well. Just on the first lap he heard a noise and the car got loose. He broke the mounting bolt for the rear control arm so in he came :-(
Then Donnie was kicking butt when all of a sudden on the last lap BAM he hit the wall. He thinks his tire went flat. Luckily he is fine but the car is a tad bit damaged.

Could of been worse! So home we came with two cars that need a tad bit of work on them.
Better luck next time guys!

Joe and I slept late this AM since we did not get home til after 2 AM. We then went for a yummy lunch at Camino Ranch. We have been enjoying the sampler plate they have there lately. Even brought home left overs incase Christina wants them. Yummy yummy!!

Not much planned this week besides Joe looking for that "right" new job. Hopefully it comes along SOON! He also has to go in Tuesday for a test. They are checking his stomach or something out by putting that scope down his throat. Yuck! I will get to do what I do best.....wait in the waiting room :-)

Hope everyone has a good week. Those in Texas (DONNIE I am talking to YOU) watch out for that storm that is brewing out in the gulf maybe. Sure hope we get a tad bit of rain out of it if it comes this way! Plus the guys are off next week from racing so it would be a perfect time for it to come through.

Ouch

OUCH! Oh my someone forgot to put sun screen on before she went riding the jet skis with her hubby. I am a lobster! Later we road the Harley so my arms got even more. Ouch!

Went to the DR this AM. He drew labs to see how all is going. He was sure all would be fine and told me I am healthy as can be :-) He did make me go back on Zocor though which I am not happy about at all. Atleast he lowered it to only 10 mg. Maybe when my labs come back he will call and say I do not need it at all. That would be nice :-)

Tomorrow AM Joe has a GI appt. Won't that be fun for him? LOL

SHOCK

SHOCK I have cooked a meal today LOL I have some country ribs, twice baked potatoes, salad and deviled eggs ready for dinner. Is the world coming to an end? LOL

I am just sitting here waiting for Joe and Donnie to come in to eat. They are putting a new engine in Donnie's car. Not sure if they will get it all in this evening as I am sure Donnie needs to head towards the coast and home in a bit. (2 or so hr drive)

Joe and I went to see "Hancock" today. It was a pretty good movie. We got free popcorn! :-)

A friend was telling me that a young man who is a friend of her kids died in a car accident last night. Sad :-( From the stories my friend is telling me sounds like this young man was a great guy.

We have a busy week this week. Joe has to go do some lab work tomorrow AM and a few other errands. I have a DR appt on Tues. and then Joe has a DR on Wed. LOL Sounds like we will be living at BAMC (Brooke Army Medical Center)this week. Joe is supposed to race this coming Saturday too! I am sure he is more then ready to race since he has not in a few weeks.

Hope everyone had a good weekend!

Home and Renee

We just got home about 20 or so mins ago. Man that was a long trip today.

We had a great time seeing our friend Renee and her girls. The girls have grown so much since we saw them! McKenna was only about 10 months old and now she is almost 6. Hopefully we can see them everytime we go to KS!

Joe and the girls had such a great time swimming while Renee and I got caught up.

We also went to see a tad bit of our niece Kayla's ball game. They lost big time! :-(

While there we ran in to some friends from high school. WOW they are divorced now! I was so bad though as I was happy to hear that news. She was always so sure that Joe and I would never stayed married and that we could never make it once Joe got out of the Army. Guess she was WAY off on that one :-) (bad me)

Here is one last picture of our visit. Matthew is a tiny thing!

OH and a field of sunflowers! LOL Joe would of liked all those sunflower seeds!

Today was filled with a visit from our niece Nicole and her 3 kids. Last time we saw her she had 0 kids!

Lucky Haydin got to go out to dinner with us again tonight. Then when she came home she helped Aunt Sara wash her car. Uncle Joe had a good time too playing with the water and Haydin :-)

Woohoo

Woo hoo my sister in law Rosie went to get our nephew Harley. Over the years we have hardly seen him as his parents divorced. WOW has he grown! He is 13 now and just an all around good kid. We had a nice time with him!
This evening we went to dinner with our neice Kayla, nephew Harley, sister in law Rosie, our great neice Haydin, great nephew Matthew and their dad :-)

Cousins...Kayla and Harley with baby Matthew

Uncle Joe LOVES Haydin

Had some rain earlier today and their are still rain clouds out there in the sky this evening. I sure hope it does not rain the next two days since we had planned to be outside some with family and friends.

Fantastic Caverns, cheese and sister

Evening from Topeka Kansas! We are all settled in our hotel. Trying to decide if there is going to be rain or ??

Busy day today. We left and our first stop was at Fantasic Caverns around the Springfield Missouri area. We also stopped at a cheese shop along the way. They had like over 120 different cheeses. Free samples too. YUMMY! We bought some for a snack for tonight :-)
We stopped a few hours at Laura's house. Man the kids have grown!

Sunday

Just relaxing for a bit. We have had a long day :-) We went to the fish hatchery this AM, checked out Table Rock dam, shopped a tad bit at the outlet mall then went to listen to a deal on a timeshare. We were able to say no no no and walked away with our free tickets to a show tonight http://acrobatsofchina.com/en/. Woo hoo! Then we walked around The Landing for a bit, had some lunch and ice cream down there and watched the cool water fountain display.
