Afternoon from HOT hot Floresville!

Joe and I were surprised this AM when we went outside to leave. There were the new kittens on the porch. We had not seen them in a week or so as the momma had taken them to several different places over the last 4 weeks.

We went to the hospital today so Joe could have his first labs drawn since he got out of the hospital. Woo hoo no more shots in the belly of blood thinners! They did want him to come back in on Friday though as they thought his levels leveled to fast. (??) I guess it is nothing serious the lady just wanted to make sure. He will go in weekly for who knows how long to monitor it! The DR said normally around 2 months. We shall see.

Memorial Day

Hope everyone has had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend! Sure has been a HOT one here in the San Antonio area! Going to be one lonnngggggggggggggg summer!

And all the tornadoes! WOW the news just said so far this year there has been almost 1000 already this year! Sure hope our friends and family stay safe!

Joe is back to his normal self :-) Can never keep that man down long. He was telling our neighbor that he feels the best he has felt in a long time. More energy he said. Just what I need is for him to have more energy...I could hardly keep up in the first place some days LOL He goes in tomorrow to have his blood levels checked. I sure hope they are where they want them and he can get off the shots he has had to take 2 times a day. OUCH and his poor belly is starting to look like one big bruise. He is going to see if they need him either in the ICU or the NICU tomorrow night. Would be nice if he can pick up just one extra shift this week so we can have a normal paycheck. We shall see :-) If not he works Wed and Thurs nights.

Almost time for us to head to Texas Motor Speedway again :-) We are anxious to see our friends that live up near there! On the menu for one night is pork loin that Robynn is going to make, twice baked potato and ? I need to get a second side dish figured out this week!

We spent quite a bit of time this weekend with our friend Donnie. Joe and I miss seeing him as much as we had in the past. We also went to a quick lunch with our friend Michele today. Yum we had Olive Garden and it was extremely good. Either that or I was just plain hungry! We also went to a movie yesterday. (the Narnia one)

Joe update

Morning
Joe got a bit more sleep last night and woke feeling a tad better. His chest is still in pain but a tad better. We went out to breakfast where he ate some but not his normal. Also had to stop and pick up his glasses :-) Sexy new man! Also had to get a few groceries. I guess I wore him out as he is sleeping now. Going to take some time I think this time to bounce back. Every day will improve and soon I won't be able to keep him down LOL

Joe is home

Oh man what a week it has been and only Wednesday! Monday and Tuesday were crazy at the hospital. But in the end all came out fine. Joe came home this AM. His chest is extremely sore. I guess when you are in there from 7:40 am to almost 3 pm your heart would be hurting too. He is not liking the steps in our house about now. Always has to sit down and recoup for a bit. Hopefully in the next few days he will feel better. One good thing I guess is that I KNOW for sure I can keep him under control for a few days :-) Sure was a bit rougher deal then we had been given the impression. He goes in on Tues. AM to get labs drawn. He will have to go in weekly for a while I guess. He returns to the cardiologist in 6 weeks unless he is having issues. Keep your fingers crossed it worked as I have no idea how we can go through it again. Well I know we would but sure is not something we want to do again.

Man something blew in. My allergies are driving me crazy since we got home today.

We have a new great nephew. Mathew was born yesterday around 4:30. He weighed in around 7 lbs 13 oz (or was it 14?) and was 20 1/2 inches. They are doing well and should go home tomorrow :-) Then the fun begins for all.

Busy

Busy busy busy........work for Joe, racing, movies, grad party...etc :-) Had a nice week


Off to the hospital Joe goes in the AM. I will try to come on Tues. evening if it is not too late and let all know how Joe does.

Mother's Day and race news

I hope everyone had a nice Mother's day! Joe took me out for lunch to Camino Ranch. We got this huge platter and boy was it yummy. We have leftovers in the refrigerator! Joe talked to his mom today. Poor thing sounds like she is all stuffed up. I guess she is on some meds and they are hoping they kick in soon so she will feel better.

I talked to Christina earlier. She has been staying in San Antonio with her friend Kat. I guess she has a job interview this Wed. someplace. SHOCK and before she got off the phone she said "Happy Mother's Day...bye" LOL More then I thought I would get from her. Some day she will really shock me :-)

Joe raced at Edna last night. It was soooo humid there! Joe's car was going pretty good last night. I think he took a 3rd in his heat (hm maybe it was a 4th) but in the feature....woo hoo he took a 4th! He ran real well and very pleased with his car. He had started to make a change between the heats and the feature and I told him it was not a good idea as it never fails then it won't run like he wants so for once he left it LOL Woo hoo! He races in Edna again this coming weekend. Yep we will be at the race track for our 26th anniversary and Joe's birthday.

Joe is working tonight in ICU. He is on the schedule for 4 nights but with the way the patient count has been lately who knows if he will work all 4. He was going to stop in the NICU to see if they are needing anyone. He will be off work all next week due to his heart ablation.

Grr they have changed something at this website and I cannot seem to get things like I like them.......

Emails

My email is messed up. I need to figure out why it is acting up. So if anyone is replying to my messages I am sorry but you have to start a whole new email verses just hitting reply. Sorry :-(


Racing was good last night. Poor Joe though...he was flying and would of got a 4th but when they were down to 2 laps left some guy took him out. Oh boy.................. He was able though to finish the race and came in 10th. He sure was not too happy at all. Atleast we do not have another blown engine LOL We car pooled (well truck) last night with Donnie. Gosh it was good to see him since we only see him on race weekends now that he has moved.


Up bright and early tomorrow for me. (Christina too) We have eye appts. Yuck..not my favorite appt but I really need new glasses so I must go. Joe might me after the appt and go with me to pick out some frames. I want something different. We shall see.


Joe has a busy week this week. He is scheduled to work 4 shifts as long as they have the patient load. Then he has a class on the blood thinner he will be on soon that we had rescheduled a few weeks back. We want to try to go a fundraiser ride on the Harley on Saturday before we are off to the races. They are raising money for the Fischer House on Ft Sam. We shall see though.

Family and storms

Talked or text our family today. All survived the storms that blew through. Phew sounds as if they were nasty.


Poor Dad and Pam though they are so sick with some bronchial thingie. Hopefully the worst has past and they can get back to their normal life.


Not much too exciting going on at the Snow house today. Joe is out messing with the race car. Seems the new engine is not working right. He knows it just has to be a wire or something that is hooked up wrong but just not sure where. Guess he is going to call a guy he knows to see what he advices. Hopefully it is an easy thing to figure out and he can race tomorrow night as I know he is itching to get back on the track.


HUMID out there today. This AM it was not bad but man now it is miserable. I nice breeze sure would be nice to have.

Step closer

Joe went and had his heart CT today. All went fine :-) Next step is May 19 when he will be admitted for the heart ablation. He will have a scope down his throat and then the 20th they will do the ablation.


Finally got our cruise reservation for our trip in 09 with the Kasper's! WOO HOO! It is a 5 day one out of Galveston.


One of our cats had babies last night. We were able to find out where they are and could only see 2. They look pretty good size for being newborn kitties. We need to get the mom fixed as soon as we can so we do not have any more babies! I will post pictures when I can get a good view. They are under the porch right now.
