Gosh can yall believe tomorrow is already May?? This year is flying by!


Christina and I went out to dinner tonight. We had Chilis. We are both stuffed!! Oink we even had dessert. She went to the DR today and he prescribe some new sinus medicine for her. Hopefully it helps a lot better then what she was on. Of course if she would take it on a regular bases that might help too. (hm she must get that from me LOL)


Joe is at work tonight in the NICU. I will be anxious to hear about the babies tomorrow. He is going to try to work atleast 4 shifts a month in the NICU if not more. He had a DOWNS patient this week in the ICU. Funny since we went on that motorcycle ride on Saturday to raise money for DOWNS.
Tomorrow Joe has a CT of his heart around 1. Sure hope it is no big deal and we get in and out real quick since he has to work tomorrow night. (well hopefully....ICU seems to be still low on patient load)


I went shopping for the new baby today. I just love baby clothes shopping. Hate to see what happens when/if I am ever a grandparent. Poor Joe will need to work every day to keep up with my spending. LOL I am a sale person though and today I got some really good deals :-) Christina is always amazed at prices I pay for things...of course now days I hardly spend any time shopping :-(

The word just now from Kansas is that my neice is having a boy around the middle of May....yes May! I think she said his name will be Mathew Caden

Stormy night...beautiful day

Man we had some good storms blow through last night and early this AM. I do not think we got hail but know others did. Looks like we got about 1 1/4 inch of rain. Last we knew we were go to more tomorrow.

We got off to an early start this AM. Chilly when we started out on the Harley but sure turned out to be a nice day. We went on a Fun Run raising money for Down symdrome. Was a perfect day to be out riding.

Christina is downtown San Antonio for the night parade tonight. She called a bit ago and wanted us to come down but we have been gone all day and are beat. Sounded like she was having a fun time when she called me the second time.

Early Anniversary gift

Joe and I went shopping today. I am not sure if I thought we needed one but Joe did LOL Just a tad bit early for our anniversary but...........
So we brought home a new truck. The cool thing is that the payments are even cheaper then the old one :-) And it will tow the race car a heck of a lot better then the little ole GMC did.

Another wasted trip to BAMC today. When Joe went up to the desk to make sure it was where he was to be for his class on the blood thinner they are going to put him on next month we found out the DR had never even told Joe the correct information :-( While the class is on Thurs (well every other Thurs) it is not a walk in deal. The lady was going to allow Joe to attend today but when we found out it was a 2 hr class he decided to see if he could do it at the next class since he had to work tonight. So that is the second time this week we have been there and came home not doing what we went for. The DR was real nice though and called Joe later and told him how sorry he was that things got messed up. He was going to make sure all is set though for the ablation next month.

Fiesta time in San Antonio. Yuck I am not going down in those crowds...Christina is though. Her boyfriends parents have a corn roaster and I guess are going to be down there for the parades the next few days so Christina is going to go help. YIKES though I think it is to storm tomorrow I hope they keep an eye on the weather!

Silly me

Silly me...well not sure if it was my mistake or ? but when I got to the eye dr today I found out my appt is not today but NEXT month. Oh boy! Weird though as I know I cannot go next month on the 22nd as Joe will be in the hospital still then. Hmmmmmmm So now I am going to call on Thursday to see if they can change my appt or if not then I guess I am going to find a civilian dr. Poop!


Joe and the hospital are trying to work out a new plan for him to work. He really wants to work in the NICU but they are not willing as of yet to pay what he gets paid in ICU. It is a mess. We shall see where he ends up at.


Gas prices are crazy right now aren't they? Joe heard this AM that they are saying we will see $5 a gallon. Ack! Wonder what diesel will be? Our cars are going to think they died and went to heaven if they stay home much more. LOL


Oh did I tell yall I am going to be a new great aunt in the next few months. This time I think they are going to not find out what the baby will be. Fun to have surprises but then when you know in advance you can get better prepared. They already have a little girl.


Flat Stanley from Lees Summit Missouri has come to visit us. (Caleb's Flat Stanley) He was hoping to go see Joe race but since his engine is blown not sure what all we will have Flat Stanley do. I do know he will go on a Harley ride with us on Saturday as long as the weather is nice since we are doing the fun ride for DOWNS.


I am looking at planning a new cruise. I think we will go at the end of May next year with our friend Michele and her girls. Yes, I know a year away, but I like to get things planned. Plus when I plan this early I can get it all paid for before we ever go on the cruise :-) I need to call in the next few days for price quotes. Anyone else want to join us???


Hope everyone is staying cool....LOL or warm for those of our friends that live in states that are cold still.

Afternoon all!

I just have a few minutes then I need to get some food for Joe to take to work ready. He was not do to work tonight but they called and needed someone. He at first told them no as no bonus was being offered but shortly after they called and offered him one. Woo hoo! LOL Of course the bonus is not much but pays for a tank of gas :-) So he is off to the ICU tonight.
Supposedly they are saying patient load is down right now in the NICU. The director of nursing was telling Joe last night that they are not even sure if they will have Joe come in and train. We shall see. Hope that is not true as he seemed to like the few times he has worked in the NICU.


AMAZING we saw Ed out back today! (HI ED!) We all use to work out in the yards all the time when we first move in and for years after. Now days we go months and months without seeing each other :-( Joe is going to work on Ed's trailer so we shall see him this week again!! Sounds like they are going to head out in their RV soon to do some more geneology work. They are PRO's at it. Amazing what information they do find!


We went out to Texas Road House today to eat. I had been craving steak. Yum it was so good! Now I am wanting some yummy dessert but that sure will not help with keeping my weight I have lost off. LOL Good thing there is nothing in my house to munch on right now.


Ohhh Ed told us the horse next door is pregnant. How fun it will be to have a new born next door. I think he said it was due next month. You know nosey me....I will be watching out the window for sure as I do not want to miss a thing!!

"SNOW" Crazy

It is what the third week in April and our friends are getting snow up in Washington! LOL And we had 80+ degree weather here in Texas today

Friday races

Joe and his friends raced in Pleasanton last night. We had 12 cars show! Heat races went well. Joe got second out of 6. Feature racing was good until the guys started having issues. First Ryan went out....then Donnie crashed and Josh went to go around him and ended up over the tires and out of the truck....THEN Joe decided he needed in on the fun. LOL Unfortunately Joe decided he needed to blow his engine :-( They all were sure going good til then.


OUCH when I was trying to help with loading the car I hurt my leg :-( I have a nice area that is about 5x3 that was swollen. I bet the bump was over an inch high at first. OUCH! Just plain sore today but no bruising so far. Next time I need to be more careful.


Joe had a cheering team last night at the races. The Kinser's came and then Michele Kasper and her girls showed too. It was nice to have some people there to talk to. Poor Josh though would almost like the Kinser's not to come as last time they came he went over the same tires LOL


Today Joe and I went to look at a house. Blahhh not for us. We will keep looking. Then Joe went to the swap meet in New Braunfels. Bummer he did not see a darn thing he needed. I walked a bit with him but it was warm and my leg was bothering me. So I sat and people watched. Some interesting people there that was for sure. LOL


Christina was at one of the flea markets today. Her boyfriends family sells corn at the flea markets on the weekend. Guess Tony runs one of the corn roasters. Not sure if they are at the same flea market or different ones. They sure do make some good money and they are not even at a large flea market.


I have an eye appt this week...thank goodness! My glasses have decided they do not like my face anymore and any second they are going to break. I just keep hoping they will last til I get new ones ordered. I am sure my vision has changed quite a bit as I am having such issues with close up things.

I am just waiting for Joe to wake. He worked last night in the NICU then they had a meeting. So he was quite late getting home. Last I heard he is off work tonight. Woo hoo!


Today is my dad's 70th birthday! I talked to Pam this AM and it sounds like he was having a good birthday so far playing golf. Hopefully he did good! I will try to call him later on today.


Another beautiful day here today with very little humidity. I so am enjoying the last few days.

What is everyone up to this weekend?
I have NO idea at all what we are doing. Right now Joe is over at Donnie's house working on Josh's truck again. UGH! He mentioned maybe going to watch some racing but who knows. We shall see.


Joe worked in the NICU last night. Sure sounded like it is a busy place. He seemed happy and will work again on Monday there.

Wednesday

Evening everyone! Just sitting here relaxing. I had to take Christina to the DR this AM. What a crazy AM that way. We hit a detour on the way making us almost late, had a horrible time finding a parking place and then the computers were down at the hospital. I felt bad for the people.


Did a bit more painting on the walls in the pantry/laundry room. It is getting there. Will do more tomorrow AM as I am waiting for some caulking to dry first. Joe is going to try to tile some after he wakes tomorrow.


Woo hoo Joe finally got a night scheduled in the NICU. He will go try it out tomorrow night. Hopefully he likes it and can get a few more nights schedule for this month since he is not in ICU very many nights right now.


We "may" have some rain tonight. Sure would be nice. The humidity is HORRIBLE right now. Our joints are aching :-( Guess it could be worse.

Joe is not sure if he is racing this weekend or not. He is still disgusted with the way things were handled last time and a few other things. We shall see. Such a shame as he has such a good time when he races. He is trying to get some of the local guys so they can race at the track that is closer to us but not sure if it is going anywhere :(

Woo hoo you found my new home! Now if I can just get all settled in all will be fine :-)

Joe and I started painting the laundry room today. We also took up the flooring and finally after several years of having the tile are going to tile in there. Then I can put my new washer and dryer in there. Woo hoo! Hope we get it done quick as it is not fun having a house with no washer and dryer. I might just have to go to the laundry mat. YUCK! Although a plus in going you get your laundry done quick :-)

It was so nice to see our NASCAR buddies! We will see them in just 2 months when we go back up there for more races!! And the good thing is this next time our camp sites are right next to each other. So we know we will have atleast one neighbor that will let us get more sleep then the ones did this time :-)
We sat by a nice lady and her son at the races. Nice when you have nice people around you instead of the drunk ignorant ones.

Christina and I went out to dinner tonight. Yum Subway! We had to stop at the grocery store too. We are now home for the evening and kicking back.
